Operations Associate

The role

We are seeking a motivated and talented Operations Associate who is keen to support the development of new medicines and the growth of the start-up. You will be an early full-time employee, who will see the inner workings of building a biotech from the ground up and be involved in and learn a lot about the business operations and the science.

Key responsibilities and learning opportunities

Operations

  • Support the management team in the day-to-day running of the business to ensure smooth progress while looking for opportunities for improvement, such as putting standard operating procedures in place to ensure all operations are carried out in an appropriate, cost-effective way.
  • Develop engaging presentations that advance key business objectives and updates in clean, concise, and well-organised slides for the Board of Directors, investors and internal team.

Manufacturing and science

  • Perform secondary research on the science and technology related to CTx’s portfolio, report and collaborate with the team to contribute to drug discovery and program progression.
  • Support the planning, coordination and implementation of R&D projects and ensure completion of activities internally and externally with CROs/CDMOs.
  • Assist in developing a non-clinical strategy to ensure all pre-clinical work is completed at high quality in a timely and scientifically rigorous manner.

Business and commercial

  • Provide support in commercial analysis and maintain a deep understanding of market landscapes across various therapeutic and disease areas relevant to the company.
  • Assist in developing competitive analysis, using available data sources to provide insight into the ever-changing competitive landscape for CTx’s pipeline.
  • Develop engaging digital materials across different channels, including LinkedIn, Twitter and website.

Skills/experience:

  • Must be detail-oriented, organised and proactive.
  • Must have demonstrated the ability to adapt and learn quickly, think critically and meet deadlines.
  • Expected to have a working understanding of drug development from concept through research, development, manufacturing and commercialisation.
  • Having knowledge on ophthalmology/gene therapy drug development would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Having industry experience in a research and development setting would be advantageous but not essential.

Education / Qualifications:

  • BSc or MSc in a relevant biological or commercial discipline.
